A Sporting City
Durban is a sports-mad city with world-class facilities, including the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium that was built especially for the 2010 Soccer World Cup, and world famous sports teams with huge fan bases. Durban produced a wealth of sporting talent over the years, and many of them have gone on to become household names internationally.
Cricket
The Hollywood Dolphins are Durban’s local cricket team with a long pedigree of being among the top teams in South Africa. Based at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium, the Hollywood Dolphins play exciting cricket and are well-known for having vocal and energetic fans. A carnival atmosphere prevails at big matches. A number of the Hollywood Dolphins players have gone on to play for the national cricket team, the Proteas.

Soccer
The beautiful game is alive and well, and Durban is as soccer mad as the rest of South Africa. AmaZulu FC, Lamontville Golden Arrows FC and Durban City FC are Durban’s local football clubs that feature strongly in the South African Professional Soccer League. Soccer lovers are encouraged to grab a vuvuzela, go down to the stadium and give Durban’s finest their most vociferous support.
