Dr Helper Zhou
Department of Entrepreneur Studies and Management

Helper Zhou has recently graduated with his PhD from the Faculty of Management Sciences, DUT, and his research focused on the application of machine learning algorithms to model performance of manufacturing firms.
His research resulted in the development of an artificial intelligence toolkit which was subsequently invited for a presentation at the 2022 EURO conference at Aalto University, Finland. Based on his thesis, he published five articles in DHET accredited journals and presented on six local and international conferences. His current research interests are focused on blockchain, neuroscience
and the application of eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) to model firm performance in developing countries.Through the support of his PhD supervisor, Dr V. Gumbo, Helper collaborated with esteemed international researchers, Prof. G. Dash, and Prof. N. Kajiji from the University of Rhode Island, USA who continue to mentor him to commercialise the machine learning toolkit from his PhD study.
