Professor Oludayo Olugbara graduated from the University of Ilorin in 1991, achieving a first-class Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mathematics. He was appointed in 1992 as a junior research fellow at the University of Ilorin. He holds a master’s
degree in Mathematics with a specialization in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin and a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Zululand in South Africa. He is a full Professor in the Department of Information Technology at the Durban University of Technology in South Africa. He is a member of the University Council, a Chair of MICT SETA Research in 4IR, the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Informatics. He has so far published more than 180 research papers in national and international journals, books, book chapters, and conference proceeding articles. He is an NRF-rated researcher who has examined manifold postgraduate theses.
Dr Alveen Singh holds a Doctorate in Information Technology and is a Senior Lecturer of IT at the Durban University of Technology. He is the Post-Graduate coordinator and oversees Masters and PhD programmes in the Department of Information Technology. He is the former Faculty Research Coordinator and former acting HOD of the Department of Information Technology. He is the project manager for the MICT Seta Centre of Excellence at the DUT and the program manager for the IEEE Computer Society sponsored ICTAS international conference, established in 2017. His early research focused on HCI/UX with particular interest in e-commerce. His research focus then shifted to software engineering, IoT and aspects of ML where he
is currently supervisor to PhD and Masters students. A keen interest in sustainable and green software engineering led to involvement in the recent international collaborative project, CL4JCYE SSA sponsored by the British Council IAUP where he research innovator.
