Party till dawn in the ‘warmest place to be’ and be sure to watch a magnificent sunrise over the warm Indian Ocean. Durban is famous for its Zulu and traditional music and is a hot-bed of musical talent, and live bands can be seen most nights of the week.

Theatres
Durban has a number of excellent theatres where local and touring productions put on top class shows. There are also a number of dinner theatres.
Clubs and bars
Durban people enjoy a fun night out, so there are many clubs and bars scattered around the city. Your best bet is to speak to the locals to find the best venues. Many of these are concentrated in certain districts, like Glenwood, Florida Road, the beachfront, Kloof, Hillcrest and Umhlanga. Most of the big hotels, malls and casinos have clubs and cocktail bars where the trendy folk hang out.

BAT Centre
The BAT Centre is an arts and culture community centre designed to showcase African art and culture, and to promote local talent.
Live bands perform at the venue Thursdays to Sundays, and bands range from jazz and rock to isicathimiya and reggae.
