3.3. Ways to Pay the Administration Fee
Your single administration fee allows you to apply for a combination of up to six programmes at any of our member and partner institutions in KZN. (See page 35 for a list of our member and partner institutions).
Administration fees are non-refundable. Institutions to which you apply are only able to view and consider your application on receipt of a completed application and the relevant administration fee. Administration fees for discontinued programme choices are not refundable, but you are allowed to change that choice at no cost to you. Costs incurred if your cheque or credit card is not honoured by the bank will be passed on to the applicant.
Make sure your administration fee is paid in full on or before the published closing dates of the programme/s you have applied for. If payment is received after the date on which we receive your application, the payment date will be treated as the received date of your application. Institutions have different closing dates for their programmes. If programmes have closed by the time we receive your payment, your application for these programmes will be regarded as late and may
be considered after all on-time applications have been considered and space is still available. PLEASE NOTE: If you apply for Health Science programmes at UKZN and pay after the programme closing date, the status of these programmes will be 'Applications Closed', which means that they will not be considered.
If payment is received after 31 May (for July intake of that year) or after 31 October (for following year’s January intake), you will be liable to pay the late administration fee, as indicated in the table below.
To contact us about payment queries, email paymentscao@cao.ac.za. International applicants should ensure that the amount paid covers bank charges. International cheques are acceptable only if drawn on a South African clearing bank and is cleared by the bank. International postal orders are not accepted. Applicants with refugee or asylum seeker status recognised by the Department of Home Affairs pay the fee for South African citizens. Non- SA citizens must pay the international fee.
