Future Career Plans
Being a storyteller, I have set up my career with the foundation of poetry and photography. Having self- published two poetry anthologies thus far, I’m highly excited for the publishing of my first novel, A Dubious Alliance, in October 2023. I now look forward to breaking into the film industry with good expectations to have a positive impact on the South African film and television sector, specializing in science-fiction and action movies. To lay the groundwork, intend to submit my short films to film festivals in the near future, and networking, which is crucial as the film industry requires one to know various creatives.
As a photographer intern at the Centre for Social Entrepreneurship Rapid Incubator (CSERI/CSE), I have had the opportunity to capture the wonderful and insightful sessions conducted by CSE. I have also had the pleasure of working with various SMMEs for their marketing, photographing their products for social media and website purposes.
One of the most rewarding experiences was working on videos and reels for the incubator’s social media platforms. Overall, my time at CSE was a great learning experience. I learnt about marketing and the challenges faced by small businesses, along with some solutions for them, which has equipped me with some knowledge of business.
