Promoting Township and Rural Tourism
The Convention Bureau is aware of the need to develop township and rural tourism opportunities in KwaZulu-Natal, unlocking additional destinations and activities for both local and international tourists.
In line with such thinking, the Convention Bureau actively encourages event organisers to incorporate pre- and post-event tours to township areas and rural attractions in an effort to spread economic benefits and to make this province’s tourism sector increasingly inclusive.
Prime examples of such inclusivity included foreign Government Ministers attending the AfCFTA and World Business Angels events being taken on tours of game reserves, heritage sites and cultural experiences in townships.
