Dorothy Edet The impact of AWLO on My Life
I had low self-esteem as a result of how I was brought up. But I came in contact with AWLO in 2015. My life has changed for to better. I have high self-esteem now. I can analyze My strengths and weaknesses, set personal and vocational goals, and have the confidence, motivation, and abilities to carry them out. I have been guiding and directing others on a course of action, influencing the opinions and behaviors of others, and serving as a role model is a skill I’ve developed as a Member of AWLO. I have been prepared to meet the challenges of adulthood through a coordinated, progressive series of activities and experiences which help me gain skills and competencies. I have been exposed to Mentoring activities that are designed to establish strong relationships with adults through formal and informal settings. I have exposure to role models in a variety of contexts. Training in skills such as self- advocacy and conflict resolution. Exposure to personal leadership and
talks, on-line colloquiums by highly profiled leaders in the World. AWLO has made
me meet and know a broad community of diverse professionals through networking who in one way or the other have impacted me with knowledge. AWLO is not just an organization but, it is a community of great minds.
