According to several studies, the damage caused by invasive species can last as long as the species survives in the new environment, meaning the damage to the City’s environment caused by House Crows will be dated back to 1972 or even before. This calls for an urgent effective
method to control the species within the City to restore its environment.
Any House Crow sightings (the number of birds, location, date, time and if possible, a picture) within the eThekwini Municipality can be reported to the surveillance team via email: Mmatjie.Mashao@durban.gov.za / Sthobile. Mkhize@durban.gov.za.
