CIS NEW BILLING SYSTEM IS LIVE!
On June 1, the BWL celebrated the retirement
of our 30+ year old Customer Information System (CIS) and the launch of a new CIS
called UMAX. BWL researched many vendors prior to partnering with Itineris and UMAX,
and did onsite visits to utilities who have previously worked with both. UMAX is a modern, configurable CIS solution specifically designed for Utilities and developed on the powerful Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform. It simplifies daily tasks through automation and user-defined workflows. After countless hours of analysis, design, development, and deployment, UMAX successfully went live Memorial Day weekend.
UMAX also provided an opportunity to upgrade the BWL customer experience with a new
eServices portal and billing statement design. The new customer portal has several features including the ability to view payment history and consumption information, view past billing statements, and view and pay multiple accounts at once. Customers can sign up for paperless billing, register for automatic payment, elect
to receive various automated emails and text messages, and donate to Pennies for Power. BWL customer bills have been upgraded with a new layout that includes easy to read graphs and utility consumption details.
