As we grow, change is an inevitable reality. After all growth by definition, calls for change on some level, be it physical, emotional, spiritiual, or intel lectual. Change seemed to have been even more apparent during this our ju nioryearatCBA,aswemademajortran sitions in both school and life. W e have moved from the ranks o f underclassmen to the ranks of upperclassmen, and with
that move, though we may have failed to realize it, new challenges and responsi bilities have come our way. This move has also brought us to the realization that our life is starting to take on specific direction and that there is an importance to the relationship that exists between what we are currently involved in and what our future will be . . . what a star tling change! Today does depend upon what tomorrow is going to be for each of
us.
During this year we have seen change
and growth not only in ourselves but in
those around us. As the faces of those
who teach us the knowledge and skills
we need took on new appearances and
namesthosefaceschallengedustonot
only learn new material, but to learn in
challenging ways. The building that we
have come to call school, or for some
maybe even home, looked startlingly dif
ferent as we returned in September, to
computers, music, and art programs
with impressive equipment and chal of purpose, not only to reach that goal
lenges. Our coaches realized our person al growth and maturity and called on us to take on new responsibilities and lead ership positions on the athletic field, roles that we were glad to finally have. We experienced natural apprehension as to our ability to succeed, but as always
but to do so with the spirit and pride in who we are and what our school means.
We have just realized the greatest change of all .. . We are the class of 1988. Change had quietly brought us from boys to young men, and did we
even notice?
we rose to the occasion with customary “Brothers Pride” and did the best that we could . . . and we were well satisfied.
Finally, we realized that we were no longeronlymembersofaschoolcom munity by our actions, class spirit and leadership. We realized that we had changed since we first walked through the door of the Academy, that we have now begun that journey toward gradu ation with greater intensity and a sense
