Basemen Take Sectional Honors
Quality play produced in adverse situations.
Last year’s Varsity Baseball team was a remarkable one in many ways. Despite thefactthattheteamwasnotpredicted
to finish in the top three in the league and did not have practice all year they became co-champions. In the sectionals
they beat Camdel and Fulton in the semi finals before being stopped by a terrific Utica-Notre Dame team. CBA had an all- star at every position.
Pitching was Sidearm junior Will Blaisdall, who flirted with no-hitters on his way to a 5-0 season. Catching was Mike Sgobbo, a reliable defender and good contact hitter. At first base was

A t second base was senior Joe Pullano, who led the team in homeruns and was always a threat for the long ball. The Brothers placed senior Bob Lyons on the “hot corner" where he was a solid defender who batted over .300. Short stop senior Chris Todd robbed many a base hit while hitting himself at .400. He led the team with the most runs and sto len bases en route to what was an all-star season.

at .500+. Senior Ryan Hartley, whose defensive prowess and fine speed saved the Brothers many a game added to the outfield. Terry TUI rounded out the field with his consistent play and one of the strongest arms in the league.
Although the team will lose seven sen iors, six of them all-stars, it should be a contender again this year. A ll o f the pitching staff will return and be backed-
up by all-star catcher Sgobbo and hit man Stoyan.
