ACADEMY ’79 is dedicated in memory of Brother James
Quinn, who, in his many years of service to the Brothers of
Christian Schools, gained the love and respect of many
teachers and students alike.
Brother Quinn was born in Cumberland, R.I., and en
tered the Christian Brothers order in June, 1930. He re
ceived his religious habit in 1933. He subsequently re
ceived a bachelor’s degree from Catholic University, and a
master’s degree from Manhattan College.
Brother Quinn was the director of guidance at CBA from
1969 to 1978. In past years, he was director of St. Patrick’s
High School in Newburgh, and served at St. Joseph’s
School, Holy Name School and LaSalle Academy, all in
New York City; St. Peter’s School on Staten Island, St.
Joseph’s High School in West New York, N.J. and at CBA
in Albany.
In tribute to Brother James’ many years of service,to
CBA we dedicate ACADEMY ’79 in his memory.
