September started with over one hundred students from over twenty different school districts sitting in the gym at CBA waiting to begin the school year. Some of them knew each other, most of them did not. That is one of the challenges of being a freshmen at Christian Brothers Academy — the challenge of meeting new people, be coming a class and developing class spirit.
That is what this class did starting in September with a field day and gym night, an incredible class election and the making of plans for an exciting and fun-filled year.
Challenges were also met on other levels. CBA forced the finding of new study skills to meet a new and very real academic challenge. The challenge that helps CBA boast to the community about the quality of its programs, and the success of its graduates.
Athletically, the Class of 1989 met many challenges, a long football season, turning around a soccer season, success in cross country, wrestling, basketball and hock ey. All met energetically and with true sportsmanship.
In September this group of young men faced the chal lenge of a new experience. Now the CBA class of 1989 is able to look back on a successful year of many accom plishments, individually and as a class with great pride and wonder what the next year of challenges will hold for them.
