he Girls’ Varsity Basketball team had its
best season yet. Captains Kelly Romano
Tand Heidi Aumiller led the team to nine
great wins and four unfortunate losses. This is the
first year the girls have ever had a winning record.
The most emotional game was that against Fowler,
in which the team beat them for the first time.
Overall, this season was the best, and there still
uring the beginning of the season, the
Girls’ Junior Varsity needed to come to
Dgether as a team. After we met that chal
lenge, we began to play more aggressively and with
the desire to win. Since we are not going to be
losing any players, we know that our next year
lthough this year’s Girls’ Modified Bas
ketball Team didn’t have many wins on
A their record, they compensated with un
conditional spirit and high hopes for next year.
Some of the girls will go on next year and try out
for the junior varsity team, and every player im
proved her basic basketball skills and shared in the
camaraderie of playing together on a team. Through
out the season they developed good sportsmanship
and gave their teammates moral support.
remain many better ones to come.
