Not many high schools can boast that they
are also part of a junior high. CBA is one of
the few that can.
Being in the same building makes for an
easier transition from junior high to high school
for those who have attended CBA since their
seventh grade year. It also allows for an even
earlier college preparation, which is beneficial
to most students. Furthermore, it gives the
younger students an inside view on what high
school is really like.
Although both sections have their own sep­
arate activities, a number of the same activities
permit the two sections to work as one. Among
these are Chorus, Band, Drama, LaSallian Youth
Group, Ski Club, and Tennis. Along with school
liturgies and special events, these groups help
to bring the students together.
Another reason that this arrangement is ap­
proved by most is the ability to befriend people
of all ages. The chance to develop a relation­
ship similar to that of siblings presents itself
often. As one walks through the corridors, one
can see the number of friendships involving
people in different grades.
Watching the seventh and eighth graders
struggling to carry their heavy books makes
some students in the high school nostalgic. How
can they forget the time when they were over­
burdened by their books? Were they that young
once? The older students are reminded of the
memories made in their younger years.
CBA, for several years, has had a junior
high. Today, it would be incomplete without it.
