Icemen Cool Off Competition
Brothers reach sectional play
after successful season
Following an uncharacteristically poor season last
year, the
C B A
hockey team
figured
the year to
be a
rebuilding one. Apparently, no one mentioned this fact to
the icemen, as they had a great season and re-estab
lished themselves as a force to be reckoned with in league
play. The team was relatively young, with only four return
ing Seniors from last year’s squad, yet they still managed
to exceed the expectations of their coach, Mr. Mike Gag-
liardi, and his assistant, Mr. Kevin Conroy, by finishing
with a 9-3 League record and second place in a very
competitive league.
Early season wins gave the team confidence which
would help them as the season progressed. In particular,
a sweet victory over arch-rival Bishop Ludden served
notice to the rest of the league that the Brothers were
more than just a “rebuilding team.’’ The team sustained
