Come to the Fore
Led by Coach Campbell and Coach
Conroy, the Linksters continued their
winning trend. From the first tee to the
last putt, the players gave every bit of
effort on every stroke.
The hard work and sweat of the team
paid off at the end, as this year’s squad
surpassed previous year’s perfor­
mances. Kent Hitchcock and Kevin Britt
repeatedly rallyed past opponents to
help gain a strong first place showing in
the Area Tournament at Green Lakes,
and a close second place finish at the
Sectionals.
With a nucleus of young players, the
Clubbers ended their season with a dual
match record of 15-4. The return of vet­
eran Linksters Mark Barnell and Tom
Hettler should permit the team to repeat
an enviable record.
