The Yearbook Staff began work unbelievably early.
The preparations began in May of 1982, almost one year
before the final deadline. The first job for the Staff was the
organization of an all-important Senior Editorial Staff. Im
mediately after the group was initiated, the Senior Editors,
headed by Tom Griffith, began to debate the theme for
the book. Soon after the final theme of a rock and roll tour
was settled upon, the Senior Editors began actual work on
the 1983 yearbook. In anticipation of their first deadline,
the Editors began creating numerous articles and layouts.
Another award-winning book
is expected from talented staff
Work on the book slowed, but did not stop during the
summer, and when September rolled around, members of
the Staff found themselves faced with hundreds of meet
ings.
In spite of this early start, the Staff was confronted by
numerous difficulties. Among the difficulties were contro
versies regarding the format of the book. Almost violent
arguments over the cover and the use of Senior captions I nearly caused several nervous breakdowns. Other diffi
culties included a grueling work load created by numerous
