She taught over 2jo students in threegrades on a schedule that held different religion
requirements for nearly everygrade.
It was chaos! But right from the beginning, her loving nature and sense ofjustice were
evident. And her sense ofhumor quickly endeared her to all.
Overtime,MissGouletbecametheChairpersonoftheReligionDepartment. Sheworkedfaithfullytobuildaconsistentreligion
program for a student body that was becoming increasingly diverse.
When she arrived here, students would often express them

M iss Goulet knew nearly every person by name. She was trusted by faculty, students, and parents alike. Everyone knew that she
would hold us all to a high standard while going to bat for any underdog who needed an ally. She built up Am nesty International
into a club with over 200 members who sponsored many events to open our eyes toglobal needs and open our hearts to be more
compassionate.
She loved all her students becauseJesus loved everyone regardless o fplace or situation. She taught us that.
Many ofus sought Miss Goulet out for advice orjust to sort things out. She looked us in the eye, took time, and told the
TRUTH. She’sbeenlikealaserbeamtothetruth...whenspeakmgtotheleastconfidentorthemostpowerful.
Through the bird calls and the horse whinnies, through the all-nightJamnestys and the lines ofstudents after school, through the
piles o fpapers and the soothed parents, she brought us a spirit so strong it w ill not leave this building.
’W e loveyou, Miss Goulet.”
