How to make your space work for you
Start by making a list of all the important features you want to include. If you have a small kitchen then storage features such as a dresser unit or a
large pull-out base unit with an internal hidden drawer could be useful. Or, if you’re in a family household, then a dishwasher may be crucial to save precious time on excessive washing up!
Gather images to create a mood board so you can get an overall feel for the aesthetic and start experimenting with different colour combinations, textures and materials in the room.

Functionality without compromising on style
There are small changes you can make to help maximise storage but also maintain a stylish and sophisticated aesthetic. For example, if you have opted for open shelving in your kitchen, keep this space for some of your fancier crockery, cookbooks
or kitchen utensils. Keep the display shelves looking tidy and show off some of your favourite things. Knife holders, cutlery trays and drawer organisers
are key to keeping everything tidy and maximising the space and organisation of the overall kitchen.
Styling tips
1. If you would like to include bright pops of colour in your kitchen but want to keep it timeless and sophisticated, opt for neutral cabinetry and go bold with other elements, such as tiles and accessories. This is far easier to change if you fancy switching it up again in a few years. I opted for the Cambridge stone grey kitchen as it has a contemporary feel to it whilst offering that traditional shaker style feel – perfect for a period property.
2. Make the space your own by styling it with accessories and kitchenware that you love.
Try and match these to your overall colour scheme.
My kitchen has aqua green and orange accents throughout and I have artwork, storage tins, crockery and jugs on show to compliment this.
3. Don’t clutter the counter tops! Keep the worktop area feeling tidy and organised... I have included only the necessary appliances, for example a kettle with some nice sugar and coffee pots, a toaster and a blender. Everything else can be stored away.
4. Add some plants or herbs to the kitchen to give the space some life and colour. There’s not one room in my home that doesn’t have some natural greenery and it really improves the overall energy and feel
for any space, especially the kitchen as plants can really soften the look.
