2 SENATE LIBRARY COMMITTEE
The Unisa LIS management would like to thank the Senate Library Committee (SLC) for its continued support and for being ambassadors of the LIS during the 2023 academic year. The committee advises Senate on the requirements for library and information services related to teaching and learning, research activities, and the information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure needed in respect of the implementation of relevant policies.
The composition of the SLC is as follows:
• Vice-Principal: Research, Postgraduate Studies, Innovation and Commercialisation • Vice-Principal: Teaching, Learning, Community Engagement and Student Support • Vice-Principal: Institutional Development and Transformation
• Registrar: Academic, Enrolments and Administration
• Vice-Principal: ICT
• Executive Director: Library and Information Services
• Two representatives from each college, of which at least one must be on the level of executive dean,
deputy executive dean or director of school
• Executive Director: Research Administration
• Executive Director: Tuition Support and Facilitation of Learning
• Executive Director: ICT Systems
• Two representatives elected by the Student Representative Council • Library Directors in an advisory capacity
