DIRECTOR’S NOTE
The 2021-22 academic year marks the 26th anniversary of the dance program at Gulliver Prep’s Upper School Campus.
In three months, the dancers have been exposed to various forms of movement, and through student-centered learning, added their own unique voice to their dances. Bridging the world through a vision of acceptance, inclusivity, and a growth mindset, one of our goals has been to learn movement in new ways as classes work in both independent and collaborative experiences.
This year’s theme, PIECES, stands for: Passion Inspired, Energetically Engaged, and Creative with Excellent Showmanship. The beautiful connection to oneself, life around us, and to each other, has been displayed in poetry, choreography, projects, and now in the culmination of this performance, The Storybook: One Piece At A Time. You,
as a piece of the puzzle, will bring the applause the dancers will love to hear. It has been pure joy connecting with the dancers in person and to watch them come together to create magic.
I have been blessed with amazing students that are finding their way as dance majors, teachers, choreographers, and working professionals. It is my hope to instill in each
of my current students, a love for the art of dance as they grow to their fullest potential.
In the spirit of the season, proceeds from this performance will go to Dancers Responding to AIDS, the Thomas Armor Youth Ballet Scholarship Fund, and Camillus House.
Peace and blessings to all of you this holiday season,
Ms. Gerri
