Lesson 5: Gangs, the Other Side of the Story A.) What Gang Members Don’t Tell You
It often appears that gang members have it all, friends, money, cars, clothes, all things that attract us, but beware of the Gangsta Squad. There’s another side of the story.
G-Dogg joined a gang because he was bored and broke. He thought gang bangin’ could be exciting and help provide his wants and needs.
Hangin’ out with the OG Dawgs, drinkin’, smokin’ and robbin’ may seem fun, but it only leads to danger, harm, and misery. You can get hurt or killed in the process, or you can end up in
jail which can destroy your future.
Big Doggs choose their friends wisely. This isn’t always easy because his/her family and near-by neighbors aren’t living healthy, productive lives and many are gang members.
So Big Doggs snoop for friends in other places such as; school, rec centers, sports, music and art programs.
Scenario: Greedy and Chaos
Greedy the Gangsta is not truly happy as it may appear. He’s going to find out the hard way that the Gangsta life is not what he thought it was. Greedy thought his gangsta goons were loyal pals and had his back, but soon he realized they were not friends at all.
One day Greedy and his homie Chaos saw Big Bowser bringing in birthday presents for his puppy. Chaos had never received any birthday presents. He didn’t have any parents and the Dawgs he stayed with didn’t have any money to buy presents. So he convinced Greedy to break into Big Bowser’s doghouse with him and steal the presents.
