A participant completed a 400-meter swim in the Sliver Wings Pool during the first portion of the Luke Air Force Base triathlon Aug. 20 at Luke Air Force Base. The triathlon con- sisted of three events, each timed by personal cycling event promotion timers strapped to the ankle of each competitor.

To help children from the Luke Air Force Base community prepare for the up- coming school year, the 56th Fighter Wing Chapel organized a Back-to-School Bash Aug. 2. They handed out free backpacks filled with school supplies to children attending. More than 500 people came out for the event.
