Family wins pet contest
FORT IRWIN, Calif. — The Spratt family was recently awarded the winners of the AAFES “Patriot Pet Contest.” The winners won a $500 AAFES gift card that was presented to the family on July 8. Future contests can be found on shopmyexchange.com.

FORT IRWIN, Calif. — The Fort Irwin Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) presented a check from 2019 earnings worth $397,420 to the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Directorate (FMWR) as a yearly contribution to enhance quality-of-life opportunities for the Fort Irwin community, July 24.
Ms. Marion Taylor, Director for FMWR, accepted the check, which was $50,000 more than last year (2018). “The money we received today goes directly into programs that we pro- vide to the community, whether its equipment, construction projects or renovations,” said Taylor “It’s about quality-of-life and this goes toward everything we offer the community.”
The Fort Irwin Exchange earnings support critical military quality-of-life programs that promote military readiness and resiliency in- cluding child, youth and school services, and recreation centers.
Tomorrow, AAFES will celebrate 125
years of serving those who serve. Since 1895, warfighters and their families have counted on the Army & Air Force Exchange Service to improve their quality-of-life no matter where they have served.
