2018 Gathering of Eagles slated for Oct. 13
Coffee4Vets seeking sponsors for military ball
by Alisha Semchuck
staff writer
Members of the Coffee4VETS committee organizing the third annual Veterans Military Ball have kept busy putting finishing touches on the gala event, set for Nov. 3.
To make this extravaganza a successful community endeavor, committee members are reaching out to businesses, organizations, clubs and individuals willing to support the effort as a sponsor or donor. Sponsorships start at $800. For that, sponsors will receive a table that seats 10; a certificate acknowledging their generosity; a full-page recognition in the event brochure, a prominent display of the business, organization, club or individual’s name and preferred seating.
Donors giving $600 will also get a table for 10; the certificate; a half-page recognition in the event brochure; and a prominent display of their name. Contributors giving $300 will receive tickets for five people to attend; a certificate; a quarter-page acknowledgement in the brochure; and prominent display of their name. Those donating $200 will receive event tickets admitting two people; a certificate; a business card size recognition in the brochure; and prominent display of their name.
In a letter dated Aug. 20 for potential sponsors, Coffee4VETS President Juan Blanco said, “Veterans throughout the years have given to our nation selflessly.” He mentioned various battles and conflicts that took veterans to foreign lands, away from family and friends.
“Men and women have sacrificed to help keep our country free; yet, many have returned to less than a hero’s welcome and today may still feel forgotten,” Blanco stated. The Military Ball is a way of honoring the, a way of saying, “thank you.”
“We will be honoring Jerry Lawrence at the Veterans Military Ball,” said Stacia Nemeth, a Cof- fee4VETS board member who serves on the event committee.
Lawrence, 78, is a Marine who graduated boot camp in August 1959 and served during the Vietnam era.
The “adults only” event offers a night of dining, dancing and door prizes from 4–9 p.m., Nov. 3 at the Hellenic Center, 43404 30th Street West, Lancaster. Tickets are $40 per person. The dress code is formal wear; military uniforms or fatigues. No shorts, cutoffs, T-shirts or sleeveless shirts. In order to include sponsors in the event brochure, they must submit their donation by the Oct. 23 deadline.
For questions or more details, contact Juan Blanco at 661-860-7823 or Stacia Nemeth at 661- 810-4007.
Blanco described everything he does in support of veterans as “a labor of love.”
