Position Description
All candidates will start at the beginning salary rate (listed above), regardless of qualifications and experience.
DEFINITION
Incumbents troubleshoot and diagnose aircraft maintenance problems and perform duties related to routine maintenance, structural repairs, rebuilding and/or upgrading of major aircraft components and systems, and keeping of maintenance records.
Position-Specific Conditions
Training, Education and Experience
• Three years of increasingly responsible maintenance and repair experience as an FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant
Technician; or
• Five years of increasingly responsible
maintenance and repair experience in the United States military on at least one type of aircraft owned and operated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and currently an FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant Technician.
• HighschooldiplomaorG.E.D.supplemented by specialized training and classes in helicopter and aircraft repair.
• Possession of a current Airframe and Powerplant Certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration. Candidates will be required to submit a copy, in the form of an attachment, (both front and back) of this Certificate with the online application.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Nevada driver license.

Best Candidates Will Have
• Maintenance experience on MD500, Bell Huey (205/212), and Airbus H135, H145 series helicopters.
• Avionics experience.
• Specialized training and classes in
