Christmas breakfast at Crazy Otto’s
About 100 veterans and family members were treated to Christmas breakfast at Coffee4Vets Dec. 19 at Crazy Otto’s, hosted by veterans supporter and Marine Dad Jin Hur.
Among those celebrated and recognized were World War II Navy sailors Gwen Bolden and Art Ray, both 92. “We were both born in 1925,” said Ray, who served aboard the USS Quincy on D-Day, carrying FDR to Yalta, and present at Tokyo Bay surrender. A room full of soldiers, sailors, Marines and Coast Guard honored Rep. Steven Knight’s veterans services aide Christine Ward with a Camp Crazy Otto’s baseball cap. “I’ll figure out a way to wear it,” Ward said. “I don’t have ‘cap hair!’”
During 2017, free coffee and thousands of discounted breakfasts were served to veterans at Coffee4Vets.
