(Fort Irwin/NTC PAO)
The National Training Center and Fort Irwin hosted approximately 90 visitors during two tours of the training area here, Oct 28 and 29.
The groups were composed of people in the business and entertainment industry which included American Idol Grammy Award winner Jordin Sparks, Robert Patrick, known for his role in Scorpion and Emilio Rivera one of the stars from the former show Sons of Anarchy.
The NTC and Fort Irwin commander, COL Matthew Moore, greeted the visitors after they arrived by UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters to the National Urban Warfare Center above the training village of Razish. He briefed the visitors both days at the NUWC and then swore them in as a Soldier for the day, before they went to Razish to observe training, have a meal ready to eat lunch, shoot weapons (blank ammunition) and participate in a scenario within Razish, where they teamed-up with Soldiers of F Troop, 2nd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment.
Some of the organizations represented by the visitors included, the Producers Guild of America, Young Presidents Organization, Warner Horizon, NBCUniversal and University of Southern California Operation Mend.
The installation hosts a tour during each training rotation that can be attended by the public. Tours gives the American people and other partners of the installation an oppor- tunity to meet leadership, interact with Soldiers, and learn about the mission of the NTC and the U.S. Army.
The tour take place during roll-out day and training day one for the rotational training unit, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, from Fort Bliss, Texas.
