Army Specialists David Blanchard, a native of Starkville, Miss., left, and Cassandra Barden, a native of Lancaster, Calif., assigned to the 17th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, U.S. Army Alaska, high-five each other as they remove heavy snow from High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles in their unit motor pool on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Jan. 23, 2017, after a winter storm. The 17th CSSB is the largest battalion-level formation in USARAK, operating out of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and Fort Wainwright, and consists of seven companies and six detachments with more than 1,200 Soldiers who provide logistics, financial, law enforcement, chemical detection, and musical support to the region.
