Insight
Operating through the pandemic has heightened our awareness and appreciation
of our production sites and we are especially proud of how our manufacturing teams sustained supply and customer service in this unprecedented era of uncertainty. In this edition of Inform we highlight some of the measures put in place to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our production teams and provide an insight into what it was like to work within our production settings over the last few months. With 10 manufacturing sites across SHS Group, we have taken examples from across the different locations.
Planning & Communications
We mobilised and engaged our pandemic teams early on to carry out site surveys and install the relevant PPE equipment and sanitation units.
In addition, we communicated regularly with our production teams on our response to the pandemic, absence levels, production plans,
as well as sharing regular updates on demand and we encouraged two-way engagement to
prompt questions and alleviate concerns. With this ongoing communication we tried to create a strong sense of purpose, allowing individuals and teams to understand how they were personally contributing to the demand from our customers. It also presented an opportunity to thank everyone who adapted to new work arrangements, whilst recognising individual and team efforts.
