hand on the throttle. The huge aircraft shudders, and then
moves ponderously forward.

On the Western side of the runway, across the field of
ICBMs and the multitude of trucks which cover them, a
concrete bunker the size of a football is splitting apart
from the center like a horizontal drawbridge or breaking
continents. The tip of a Titan Avenger Neutron ICBM
emerges, fore- shadowing a missile the size of a moon
rocket.
