the brave of the past, both Confederates and Union
together, joining the General's last stand, against the
enemy of all mankind about to lift off from the barrel of
it’s silo.
ALL OF THIS HAPPENS WITHIN AN INSTANT, AS IF A
VISION
EXTREME CLOSE-UP: General Sorkin's eyes.
EXTREME CLOSE-UP: General Yeager's eyes.
Their eyes meet.
GENERAL SORKIN: smartly salutes, as befitting an
officer and a gentleman.
INT. THE C-10 CABIN: GEN. YEAGER RETURNS THE
SALUTE. GEN. YEAGER'S POV:
ON THE FIELD BELOW there is no great army of the civil
war ghosts at Gettysburg, but a lone vehicle driven by an
M.P. with an Air Force General standing at attention,
along a desolate stretch of field, heading for a rising
missile as tall as a 10 story skyscraper.
As it nears the TITAN, Suddenly the transport picks up
speed.
BEHIND THE WHEEL:
SERGEANT GREENBURG'S TERRIFIED EYES REFLECT
THE BLINDING LIGHTS OF THE TITAN MISSILE.
GENERAL SORKIN: Withdraws his sword.
The C-10 gathers speeds along runway; General Yeager
stares down.
