goodbye.

WANDA: Good night, Connie!

SPEAKER MANNING: (tight, under his breath) That wasn't

Connie Chung, that was Melissa Chang.

WANDA: Well who can tell them apart?

Behind the Speaker and his Wife, Melissa Chang turns to

another guest.

THROUGH THE GAUNTLET OF THE PRESS: Secretary

INT. SPEAKER MANNING'S LIMOUSINE - NIGHT

As the Chauffeur gets into the front seat, Speaker

Manning waves out to the political paparazzi and

continues his professional smile to the fans.

WANDA

: How dare you interrupt me like that.

SPEAKER MANNING:
That's the last time you're going

out. No more.
(turns to Chauffeur) Get us the hell out of

here!

WANDA

: What're you so pissed about, Mister God?

SPEAKER MANNING:

You said you wouldn't drink. You

said you'd make no more political comments. -- 'Lame

dog.' -- You just do not call the President a lame dog in

front of the press!

WANDA: Why not? YOU do!

SPEAKER MANNING: I'm not a drunk!
