SAMUEL A. SORKIN, Confederate hero of Gettysburg.

Sorkin studies, then salutes his ancestor.

Now he crosses to the Confederate uniform in its

Plexiglas display.

THE GOLD AND BLUE UNIFORM OF A CONFEDERATE

BRIGADIER GENERAL.

GEN SORKIN respectfully removes the scabbard from its

fixture, slides out the long slightly tarnished silver blade

from its resting place and touches the blade, almost a

caress over the sharp shiny silver.

LT. WHARTON: Enters the doorway, pauses.

WHAT HE SEES: Gen. Sorkin gives the blade a ritual

warrior’s kiss.

LT. WHARTON: Isn't sure why this bothers him, but he

has more urgent worries.

LT. WHARTON

: You're wanted in the war Room, Sir.

GEN. SORKIN TURNS, sword in hand, as if from another

era, another war.

LT. WHARTON-- There's a problem with the nuclear

missiles.
