PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked... but whose delight is in the law of the Lord... Psalm 1:1-2
TO GOD: Father, thank you for your life-giving word which ‘is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path’ (Psalm 119:105).
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, may we desire to know the mind of Christ, and as we obey your will, may this psalm become a reality.
FOR THE WORLD: We pray for prisons and prisoners throughout the world. Many minds have been corrupted by circumstance and sin; Father, renew their hearts and minds through faith in Christ.
FOR OUR NATION: We live in a culture of half-truth, unreality and character assassination; help us to resist this tide of evil.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, forgive me when my thought life and conversation has been contrary to your will. I want to keep in step with your Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16).
FOR MYSELF: Lord God, may I find delight in knowing and obeying your word for the glory of your Name.
PRAYER
Father I look to you; my Lord, my God, my
King!
AMEN.

EVENING WITH RUTH VALERIO
Environmentalist and theologian, social activist and author
on Monday 16th September at 7.45pm
What is your first response when you hear something about the ‘climate crisis’? What do you do if you feel overwhelmed in your activism?
Ruth said “wherever we stand when it comes to hope, we know that we must keep taking climate action because, even at this late stage, every fraction of a degree still matters. For many years my motto has been ‘many little steps in the right direction’ – and the more of us that are able to keep
going, the bigger the difference we can make. It can feel overwhelming and hopeless, and I want to be part of a movement pushing for change, not just throwing up my hands in desperation.”
Ruth has a Theology degree from Cambridge and a doctorate from Kings College London, and honorary doctorates from the Universities of Winchester and Chichester and is a Canon Theologian at Rochester Cathedral. She has written extensively on justice, environment and lifestyle issues and is a regular speaker and media contributor.
Join us for an inspiring evening!
