PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. ”
Matthew 5:8
TO GOD: Father, I praise you that it is because of the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus that my heart is made pure and I am able to see you.
FOR THE CHURCH: Abba Father, thank you it’s not bricks and water, but your church that is the temple in which the Holy Spirit dwells (1Co 6:19).
FOR THE WORLD: Father, today we remember those Christians who are facing persecution for your namesake. May their faith not fail as they remain steadfast, with their eyes fixed on the Prize (Ph 3:14).
FOR OUR NATION: Lord God, we pray for our Government; may our laws be righteous and just; maintaining our freedom to worship and obey you.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, I thank you for my friends and family; please touch the hearts of those who are yet to accept the gift of salvation.
FOR MYSELF: Father, may your will be done and your kingdom find expression in my life.
As we approach this special time of year, let us remember the journey of the Magi. They went to find the one who had been born King of the Jews. Why? They said
“We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him”.
May each one of us have a fresh sense of the joy of knowing and worshipping Jesus.

Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King! Let every heart prepare Him room!
PRAYER
Father, as we draw near to you: please ignite our love for you afresh. In Jesus name. AMEN.
