 PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“Pardon your servant, my lord... Do not be angry with your servant...” Genesis 44:18
TO GOD: We thank you, Heavenly Father, that ‘All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth toward those who honour his covenant and decrees’ (Psalm 25:10).
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, forgive us for every act of prejudice and pride in which the church elevates itself in judgement over others.
FOR THE WORLD: In our war-torn world, we pray for help and protection for the innocent, marginalised and vulnerable. Intervene, O Lord, replacing warmongers with peacemakers.
FOR OUR NATION: We pray for our leaders, especially those in Parliament, ‘to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly’ (Micah 6:8).
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, may we forgive as we have been forgiven, knowing that such acts of unmerited grace are more powerful and effective than retribution.
FOR MYSELF: Father, I humbly throw myself on to your mercy and ask for forgiveness, through and in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
  PRAYER
Oh Lord, please equip Ruth Conlon as she speaks at Time out with God on 29th Sep. In Jesus name. AMEN.

 LADIES’ DAY With Clare Heath-Whyte
Thursday 23rd October, 10.15am to 2.45pm
Hebrew 12:1-2 describes the great crowd of witnesses, believers from the past, who urge us on as we run the race of faith. Looking at the fascinating lives of godly women from history we will see what lessons we can learn today!
How can the fascinating lives of these women and others help us “run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing
our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith?” Hebrew 12:1-2.
Clare Heath-Whyte is a former history teacher who loves researching and writing about the lives of Christians from the past and seeing how God has used even the most unlikely people to grow his kingdom. She works alongside her husband David in St Lawrence Church in Morden South London.
