PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
God spoke to Israel in a vision at night and said, “Jacob! Jacob!” “Here I am,” he replied. “Do not be afraid to go...”
Genesis 46:2-3
TO GOD: Father, thank you for your still small voice. It is so wonderful that you speak to us today, inspiring us to walk in paths of righteousness.
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, may your people respond like Jacob to your call: “Here we are! We are totally available to serve you in whatever way you ask.”
FOR THE WORLD: We pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters, especially...... Please strengthen them so their faith will not fail and their persecutors will see the glory of God in them.
FOR OUR NATION: Almighty God, we pray for justice for refugees, especially those seeking asylum. May we always care for the ‘alien in our midst’ (Leviticus 19:34).
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, so many people are plagued with fear and anxiety. May we be a calming presence, bearing your love, peace, word into every situation.
FOR MYSELF: Father, may my ears be ever attentive to your voice and my heart and mind, prepared to follow your command wherever it may lead. Amen.
PRAYER
