PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.” Mark 14:9
TO GOD: ‘Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe...’ (Hebrews 12:28) – let us praise...
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, please forgive your church for the times we worship you with our mouths and not sacrificially with our hearts.
FOR THE WORLD: We pray for prisons and prisoners throughout the world. Many minds have been corrupted by circumstance and sin. Father, renew their hearts and minds through faith in Christ.
FOR OUR NATION: We live in our consumer-driven, hedonistic society; the rich get richer while food banks have become a necessary part of life. May we each play our part to care for the impoverished.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, may I give you the first fruits of my life and all I possess; trusting that you, my Jehovah-jireh, will provide.
FOR MYSELF: Lord, throughout the day may I remember that “to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams” (1 Samuel 15:22). Amen.
