PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak. Mark 5:27
TO GOD: Father, thank you that faith, even the size of a mustard seed, allows us to speak to mountains, saying, “Move from here to there” and it will move; nothing will be impossible for us (Matthew 17:20).
FOR THE CHURCH: Lord God, we pray that your universal Church will stay in touch with you through your unchanging word and the power of your Holy Spirit.
FOR THE WORLD: Loving heavenly Father, we pray for your hurting world, in pain with no doctor. Today, I ask that thousands of desperate individuals may reach out to you to find salvation and deliverance.
FOR OUR NATION: Everlasting Father, we pray for prisons throughout our land; for offenders, officers, governors, chaplains and support staff to work towards restoration and effective resettlement into society.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, today I name ............... Please, in your grace, restore the years the locusts have eaten, as they each reach out to you in faith.
FOR MYSELF: Father, I come before you, acknowledging my need of your holy power to transform me, burning away the dross and bringing life to my wounded soul. Amen.
PRAYER
Lord God, please lead and guide all the Contributors as they devote time to writing Living Light.
AMEN.
PRAYER FOR PERSONAL COMMITMENT
A PROMISE FROM GOD TO CLAIM:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The Lord Jesus stands outside our lives longing to be invited into them, and to make his eternal life real for us. What do we have to do? Pray the following prayer as your personal response to God!
A PRAYER TO OFFER TO GOD:
‘Lord Jesus Christ, I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life. I ask for your forgiveness and turn from everything that I know is wrong. Thank you for dying on the Cross for me to set me free from my sins. Please come into my life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and be with me forever. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.’
A PATHWAY TO WALK WITH GOD:
Jesus calls you to be his friend and share your life with Him. He will guide and strengthen you. He will not fail you or abandon you (Deut 31:6). He wants you to trust Him and obey what He says. It is the start of an exciting new life.
