PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over evil spirits. Mark 6:7
TO GOD: Loving heavenly Father, we take time to acknowledge your authority over all things, and reverently humble ourselves before your mighty hand.
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, forgive us for not being lifetime learners and not partnering with others in the service to which we are called.
FOR THE WORLD: In our war-torn world, we pray for those who have suffered the trauma of loss and those who are left bereft of family, possessions and homeland.
FOR OUR NATION: We pray for our leaders, especially those in government, to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly (Micah 6:8).
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, I bring before you those who are struggling with life, finding it hard to reconcile outcomes. Show me how I can come alongside them.
FOR MYSELF: Father, I want to take time to worship you for the wonder of ‘Jesus, who for the joy set before him endured the cross’ (Hebrews 12:2). Amen.
PRAYER
Father, thank you that you transform us, by the power of your Word. For your glory.
AMEN.
