 PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:11
TO GOD: How wonderful it is, Father, to celebrate the coming of Jesus to earth to be the Saviour of mankind. We take time to join with heaven in giving thanks and praise!
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, as we celebrate, we remember brothers and sisters in countries where they must worship in private for fear of persecution, and for others in abject poverty.
FOR THE WORLD: In our war-torn world, we pray for help and protection for the innocent, marginalised and vulnerable. Intervene, O Lord, bringing low those who cause suffering.
FOR OUR NATION: We pray for those of our leaders, especially in Parliament, who know and worship Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Please give them a special dispensation of courage to stand for righteousness.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, at this special time show us those with whom we need to reconnect, showing kindness and love.
FOR MYSELF: Father, I ask that the joy of Christmas will endure far beyond the season, infectiously influencing my world.
  PRAYER
Lord God, please increase our passion to tell others about the newness of life you give. In Jesus name.
AMEN.

  PRAYER FOR PERSONAL COMMITMENT
A PROMISE FROM GOD TO CLAIM:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The Lord Jesus stands outside our lives longing to be invited into them, and to make his eternal life real for us. What do we have to do? Pray the following prayer as your personal response to God!
A PRAYER TO OFFER TO GOD:
‘Lord Jesus Christ, I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life. I ask for your forgiveness and turn from everything that I know is wrong. Thank you for dying on the Cross for me to set me free from my sins. Please come into my life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and be with me forever. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.’
A PATHWAY TO WALK WITH GOD:
Jesus calls you to be his friend and share your life with Him. He will guide and strengthen you. He will not fail you or abandon you (Deut 31:6). He wants you to trust Him and obey what He says. It is the start of an exciting new life.
If you have made a commitment to a personal faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, we would love to hear details of your journey. You can write to us at: Nationwide Christian Trust, Mulberry House, Chelmsford Road,
