 PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me...” Revelation 2:13
TO GOD: Father God, I thank you that you are faithful and your word is eternally true. ‘The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases... great is your faithfulness’ (Lamentations 3:22-23).
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, as we begin a new year, having celebrated Jesus coming as our Saviour, now may we live for him as our Lord, choosing to faithfully obey your word.
FOR THE WORLD: Father, we pray for all affected by war, earthquakes, famine, floods and fire and for those in material need, lacking food, water and health care, struggling to survive. Show us how we might be part of your answer.
FOR OUR NATION: Father, we pray for the homeless and marginalised in our community who are struggling to make ends meet, and for those battling with their mental health.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, forgive us for our self-indulgence, when we think and care more about ourselves than for others. I ask that, with Christ’s compassion, my gaze may turn to those in need.
FOR MYSELF: Father, please forgive me when fear of man has caused me to deny you. As I step into 2026, I desire to embrace you, daily take up my cross and wholeheartedly follow you.
  PRAYER
Lord God, I welcome you afresh into my heart, mind and soul as this new year starts. In Jesus name.
AMEN.
