 PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“See, I have placed before you an open door that no-one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” Revelation 3:8
TO GOD: Father, I thank you that we can ‘approach your throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need’ (Hebrews 4:16).
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, may we long to know the intimacy of your kiss and embrace. May we draw back from simply doing works of service and find time, in loving obedience, to sit at your feet.
FOR THE WORLD: Almighty God, we pray for the nations. May the drift towards nationalistic governments not be at the cost of unified global concern. Thank you for humanitarian agencies striving to bring help; in particular we pray for Tear Fund and Christian Aid.
FOR OUR NATION: Lord Jesus, have mercy on us, for we have forsaken your ways. Thank you for the ‘rustling of the leaves of the trees’ – signs of a fresh move of your Spirit in our land.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, we bring our friends before you, especially those who are mourning loved ones and also those who are lonely.
FOR MYSELF: Father, I thank you that your grace is sufficient for me, for your power is made perfect in my weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
  PRAYER
