WELCOME TO LIVING LIGHT
Dear friends, it’s my pleasure to introduce this our Spring edition of Living Light. This quarter we draw our reflections from the first 12 chapters of the book of Proverbs. Proverbs forms part of a larger body of wisdom literature that includes Job, Psalms, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon. Proverbs may not be the most widely read book in the Bible; it’s author for the most part is Solomon, King of Israel c. 3,000 years ago. Of him we are told, “ ... all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, came to hear the wisdom of Solomon” (1 Kings 4:34). There has never been a greater need to know the wisdom of God than today when, despite a surfeit of knowledge so readily available on the internet, understanding and wisdom are in such short supply. So let’s daily sit at Jesus’ feet and receive the wisdom of God so that we can live victoriously through the challenges that lie ahead.
We pray that Living Light will be a source of hope and revelation to you, inspiring you “to press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of you” (Philippians 3:12).
