PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34
TO GOD: Righteous heavenly Father, thank you that the power of the blood of Jesus sets us free from the mastery of sin and death.
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, forgive our judgemental attitudes which major on others’ sins rather than repenting of our own. Thank you that ‘love covers a multitude of sins’ (1 Peter 4:8).
FOR THE WORLD: Father, in our war-torn world, raise up peacemakers who seek to repair broken walls and break down centuries of prejudice.
FOR OUR NATION: Father, we live in a society of brokenness. Restore, O Lord, biblical standards in family life.
FOR OUR FRIENDS: Father, may I forgive as I have been forgiven. Even today, show me those whom I need to forgive, especially those whom I once considered as friends.
FOR MYSELF: Father, may forgiveness and grace be such an integral part of my life that they become as natural as breathing. Amen.
NCT PRAYER
Father, I give thanks for the wonder of total forgiveness and the transforming power of the resurrection. AMEN.

Easter can easily become a time where we ”go through the motions” without experiencing the renewed wonder of total forgiveness and the transforming power of the resurrection.
Jesus came that we might “have life and have it to the full” (John 10.10). He did not come just to die, but to impart life.
We share in Paul’s prayer for the Ephesian church, praying, “that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms”
