PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK
Jesus got up... and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
Mark 1:35
TO GOD: Father, thank you for the power of prayer and the occasions in our own lives when we have received answers, sometimes in surprising ways.
FOR THE CHURCH: Father, our Lord Jesus said, “My house shall be called a house of prayer” (Matthew 21:13). May it be so! Raise up a generation that makes prayer a top priority.
FOR THE WORLD: May those suffering through war, tragedy, famine and climate change receive the help they need to rebuild their lives, knowing Christ’s presence with them.
FOR OUR NATION: May the church once again realise that ‘the prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with’ (James 5:16 - ‘The Message’).
FOR OUR FRIENDS: May those closest to us recognise that we have been with Jesus (Acts 4:13), and like the disciples ask, “Teach us to pray” (Luke 11:1).
FOR MYSELF: Father, may my prayer mirror Paul’s prayer that ‘I want to know Christ and be like him...’ (Philippians 3:10). Amen.
NCT PRAYER
Lord, may lives be refilled and transformed as people hear Susie’s testimony at the Girls Night Out on 2nd May. AMEN.
