‘The Abberley Spirit’
People often refer to ‘The Abberley Spirit’
and we have identified the values that we believe make our school community so special We have decided on on our definitions which you can see below and we will be working hard to make sure that these are woven through the the fabric of all all that we do here at at Abberley Hall We are having posters made up to go around the school and remind ourselves of what our our core values are are and we will be striving to ensure that they are are modelled by staff around the the the school in in the the the way we live live our lives interact with the the the children and with one another We need parents to help us please by reinforcing these values at home Integrity
We believe that integrity is when we we do what we we know to be be right even when when it it is is difficult and when when no one is is looking If we act with integrity then we we build trust We reflect on the the way we we live live our lives and we we say sorry when we we get things wrong Kindness
We are gentle forgiving and we think about the the feelings of others Acts of of kindness kindness spread and lead to other acts of of kindness kindness like ripples on on a a a a a pond If we we are kind then we we will all feel happier and help to make our world a a a better place Collaboration
We can achieve so much more together when we value our differences and use each other’s strengths We are inclusive we listen to others and we are patient Courage

We We are polite and and fair to all We We respect property ourselves and and the the world around us We respect others and we celebrate our differences Academic Life There is so much going on at Abberley with our jam-packed extra- curricular offering However we we are are careful to remember that the academic life of the school is absolutely central The children have worked hard this term and without the the disruption of covid they have made superb progress in all year groups It has been wonderful to see educational trips and visits back on on the agenda Year 5 enjoyed a a a a a History trip to to Wigmore and Croft Castles Year 4 had their first experience of a a a a a a a Maths Challenge at at Wrekin College and and Years 7 and and 8 enjoyed the the experience of seeing Private Peaceful at at at the the Theatre in in in in Malvern having read the book in in in in class We’ve enjoyed welcoming our EAL short stay pupils who have have enjoyed the the teaching they have have experienced and making friends with our Abberley students Children have been busy with their French and Spanish oral assessments in Years 7 and 8 Alex Young Head of Modern Languages at Malvern College visited Abberley for a a a a German Taster with Year 7 Pupils in Years 4 to 7 have all now completed their Progress Tests in Science English and Maths which will provide a a a a a a lot of data for teachers to analyse and which will inform their lesson planning
